Police probe claims of shooting in Lavington

Police are investigating after a man told them he was shot in southern NSW earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 3.15pm yesterday, a 30-year-old man presented himself to Albury Base Hospital with a wound to his foot.

Police were called and attended the hospital shortly after.

Initial inquiries suggest, the 30-year-old man was approached by the passenger of a white Ford hatchback as it was travelling along Urana Road, Lavington on Wednesday 17 August.

Inquiries are continuing to identify the driver and passenger of this vehicle.

Officers from Albury Local Area Command would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

He is described as being aged between 35-40, with olive complexion, of medium build, and approximately 180-190cm tall.

He was last seen wearing a white singlet, black tracksuit pants and a black NY flat cap.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
