Police Probe Fatal Rockhampton City Crash

A pushbike rider involved in a serious traffic crash at Rockhampton City on Friday, 28 August has died as a result of his injuries.

Around 11.40am, a bicycle and a Mitsubishi Pajero collided at the intersection of Kent Street and Cambridge Street.

The 39-year-old man riding the bicycle sustained critical injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital where he passed away on 30 August.

A 10-year-old boy who was a passenger on the pushbike was also seriously injured in the crash and remains in hospital.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 43-year-old man, did not sustain any physical injuries and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, and officers are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information or vision to come forward.
