Police probe following attempted armed robbery in Blacktown

Police are investigating following an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

Just before 3am tomorrow, a man was walking near Bungarribee Road, Blacktown, when he was approached by a 5 males.

A verbal altercation took place before the group of males produced a weapon and demanded the man’s wallet and other items of value.

The man, believed to be in his 30’s, has declined and a physical altercation took place.

The group of men, believed to be aged between 15 and 25, have fled the scene.

Officers attached to Blacktown Local Area Command were contacted and canvassed the area.

The man received no injuries and no valuables were taken.

Police will continue with their inquiries and are urging anyone who might have seen anything to contact police.
