Police probe home invasion in Auburn

Police are investigating following a home invasion in Auburn last night, NSW Police say.

About 7.30pm today, emergency services were called to a home on Pine Road, following reports of a home invasion.

A 59-year-old woman was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Concord Hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.

Initial investigations suggest two men entered the home - one armed with a gun described as similar to a shotgun - and demanded cash before hitting the woman in the face with the gun and fleeing.

A 59-year-old man was home at the time, and received minor injuries. He was also taken to Concord Hospital.

The men were last seen entering a light blue or green coloured sedan described as being similar to a late 90s model Toyota Camry, driven by a third man west on Pine Road.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.

Police are urging anyone who knows the whereabouts of the men or car, not to approach, but contact triple zero (‘000’) immediately.

Police are investigating whether the incident was targeted.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Auburn Detectives on (02) 9646 8699, Crime Stopers.
