Police probe home invasion in Shalvey

Police are appealing for information following a home invasion in Sydney’s western suburbs, NSW Police say.

About 12.30am today, two men, one who was armed with a machete, forced their way into a home on Stolle Street, Shalvey, and threatened two male occupants.

The two offenders demanded money and assaulted two occupants, before fleeing the location with small amount of property.

Police and emergency services were called to the location where the two male occupants, aged 30 and 46, were treated for minor injuries. They did not require hospitalisation.

A third occupant, a 73-year-old woman, was unharmed and in another room at the time of the incident.

Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command continue to make inquiries into the incident and are appealing for information. They would like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 183cm tall and a solid build. He was wearing a blue jumper, brown pants and a baseball cap.

The second man is also described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 183cm tall and a medium build. He was wearing light blue jumper, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
