Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the wounding of a man at Birrong overnight, NSW Police say.
About 8pm today, police were called to a boarding house on Cooper Road following reports of a possible stabbing.
On arrival officers located a 22-year-old man suffering lacerations to his forearm and lower leg.
He was treated by NSW Paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established at the home while police conduct further inquiries.
The man who police believe may be able to assist with inquires resides at the premises and left the scene prior to their arrival.
The investigation continues.
