Rural Crime Investigators are appealing for information from the public after more than 200 cattle were reported missing from a station in the state's far west earlier this month.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District received a report that 212 cattle had gone missing from a station on West Wilcannia Road, Wilcannia, around 220km east of Broken Hill, about 6pm on Sunday 6 September 2026.
Following the incident, Rural Crime Investigators commenced inquiries into the location of the missing cattle.
The cattle reported missing consist of 155 black Angus cows, eight black Angus bulls, and 49 Shorthorn bulls.
The cattle are branded with a capital 'F' over a lowercase 'b'. They are also marked with a "V" in each ear, and have a rectangle tag under each ear.
Detectives are of the belief the cattle may have strayed or been stolen from the station, and are urging landholders or anyone else in the area who may have information that relates, to contact Rural Crime Investigators attached to Broken Hill Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
