Police probe sudden death in Coorparoo

A boy has died after suffering from a gunshot wound at Coorparoo this evening.

Around 5pm, police were called to parkland off Deshon Street at Coorparoo where a 16-year-old was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police and paramedics rendered first aid. He died on scene a short time later.

Early investigations suggest the boy's death is not suspicious, however a crime scene has been established to fully understand the circumstances surrounding his death.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at the time around Deshon Street, Turbo Street, Noman Street or Withington Street, is encouraged to come forward.

Anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage in the same area between 4pm and 5pm, is also encouraged to contact police.
