Police Probe Sudden Death In Granite Gorge

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the sudden death of a 56-year-old Victorian man at Granite Gorge yesterday, 28 August.

The man was reported missing on 27 August after he failed to return from a hike on 26 August.

His vehicle was located at the Granite Gorge carpark and a search and rescue operation was launched, involving police, the Rescue 510 helicopter, and State Emergency Service (SES) personnel.

Around 2.30pm, the man was located deceased at the Gorge.

The death is not being treated as suspicious however investigations are continuing.
