Police probe sudden death in Rockhampton

Rockhampton detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of a man's death at Norman Gardens yesterday.

Emergency services were call to a Cypress Avenue house just after midday following reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, police observed the 51-year-old man had sustained a single stab wound to his chest. He was transported to hospital where he later died.

A 48-year-old woman, also from Norman Gardens, is assisting police with their inquiries.

A crime scene was declared as investigations commenced.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with information to come forward and speak with police.
