Police release CCTV images as investigations into carjacking continue at Parramatta

Police have released CCTV images of a man as investigations continue into a carjacking at Parramatta earlier this year.

About 9.45pm on Sunday 6 June 2021, a 48-year-old man parked his Mazda 3 in the driveway of a unit complex on Lennox Street when he was approached by an unknown man who demanded his car, keys and phone before threatening him with a box cutter.

The items were handed over and the man drove from the carpark in the Mazda.

The incident was reported to police and officers from the Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

About 3.30pm on Tuesday 22 June 2021, the Mazda was located parked in Bennett Road, St Clair. The vehicle was seized and forensically examined.

Police are also investigating several fraudulent financial transactions in the Parramatta area.

As inquiries continue, investigators have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted in the images is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-30s, about 180cm tall, of slim build with broad shoulders. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark pants and grey sneakers.

Investigations are continuing.
