Police release image as investigation into bottle shop burglaries continues

North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives have charged two men and are hoping to identify a third following a series of alleged burglaries across Melbourne targeting bottle shops and supermarkets.

The alleged burglaries occurred in Northern and Eastern Suburbs between the 18th of January 2020 and the 24th of February 2020.

Detectives arrested and charged two men on 13 February in relation to the alleged burglaries.

A 48-year-old Kensington man was charged with 12 burglary offences and remanded to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on the 19th of March 2020.

A 27-year-old Kensington man was charged with three burglary offences, cultivating a drug of dependence, prohibited person possess firearm and possess ammunition.

He was remanded to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 18th of March 2020.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives have today released an image of another man they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.

The image relates to a burglary that occurred at a bottle shop on Springvale Road, Glen Waverly on the 24th of February 2020 about 3:30 am.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm of medium build.
