Police release image of man as inquiries into fatal stabbing continue - Inner West

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an incident at a construction site at St Peters, where a man was fatally stabbed and another critically injured.

About 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 November 2019), police were called to the Princes Highway, St Peters, after receiving reports that two men had been stabbed.

A 76-year-old man died at the scene. A second man, aged 33, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he underwent surgery.

A crime scene has been established and a large-scale search is underway to locate a third man who fled the scene.

It is believed the men are known to each other.

Detectives from Inner West Police Area Command, assisted by the Homicide Squad, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Tangent.

Investigators have released an image of man who may be able to assist police with their inquiries.

Vladimir Kondakov is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with a large build and a shaved head. He speaks with a Russian accent.

Police urge the public not to approach the man, but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
