Police Respond to Fatal Crash on Antigua St, Christchurch

Police can confirm a man has died following a crash involving an electric scooter in Christchurch.

At around 12.10am on Sunday 21 June, Police were called to Antigua Street near the Burke Street intersection.

The scooter rider received serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

Sadly, despite best efforts from medical professionals, the man died in hospital.

At this stage, Police do not believe another vehicle was involved, however our enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the Antigua Street and Burke Street areas at the time of the crash, or who may have CCTV footage in the area.

The man was wearing a light-coloured jacket over a New Zealand Warriors top, blue jeans, and sneakers.
