Esperance Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal motorcycle crash at a motocross event in Myrup, near Esperance, today, Sunday 18 April 2021.
About 9:35am Esperance Police were notified of the crash at the Esperance Motorcycle Club event on Myrup Road. Information received was that a rider taking part in the event had crashed his motorcycle while riding on the track and was seriously injured.
St John Ambulance personnel also responded to the incident.
Tragically, the rider - a 14-year-old boy - could not be revived and died at the scene.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
