Police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at Paddington

A man has died following a single-vehicle scooter crash in Sydney's east overnight.

Emergency services responded to the intersection of Oxford and Queen Streets, Paddington, just before 2am (Friday 22 April 2022), after reports a Vespa motor scooter had lost control and struck the median strip, ejecting the rider.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced CPR until the arrival of paramedics; however, the rider – a man aged in his 50s - died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established with an investigation underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
