Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Chatsworth

A woman has died following a two-vehicle traffic crash at Chatsworth yesterday afternoon, May 11.

Initial investigations indicate around 3.45pm, an orange 2017 MG GS wagon was travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway, and a white 2014 Ford Ranger towing a caravan was travelling northbound before both vehicles collided.

The driver of the MG, a 41-year-old Tinana woman, died at the scene.

The sole passenger of the MG, a 7-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Gympie Hospital.

The driver of the Ranger, a 76-year-old Valdora man, was taken to Gympie Hospital with minor injuries and a single passenger, a 72-year-old Valdora woman, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and appeal to anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage, including of the MG travelling south along the Bruce Highway around the time of the collision to come forward.
