The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal traffic crash in Canoona last night, 19 November.
Police and emergency services were called around 10.40pm to reports a Mercedes-Benz truck and a Freightliner truck had crashed on the Bruce Highway.
The driver of the Freightliner sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
Two passengers who were also in the truck were declared deceased at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor injuries and has been transported to hospital.
The Bruce Highway in Canoona is expected to remain closed for some time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
