A 71-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle traffic crash in Gundiah, south of Maryborough, yesterday afternoon, 20 December.
Around 3.20pm Saturday, emergency services were called to Bauple Woolooga Road following reports a silver Subaru Forester had crashed into the Mary River after veering off a bridge.
Members of the public entered the water in attempt to assist the driver and sole occupant.
Police divers attended the scene a short time later, with the man, a 71-year-old from Newtown, located deceased inside the vehicle.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision of the vehicle prior to the crash, is urged to contact police.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
