A man has died in a single vehicle traffic crash at Coolabunia in the South Burnett this afternoon.

Around 5.30pm a motorist travelling south on Coolabunia Road came across the crash and raised the alarm.

Preliminary investigations reveal the man, a 36-year-old Booie local, was travelling north along Coolabunia Road in a 2007 silver Hyundai Elantra, which has left the road and collided with a tree. He died at the scene from his injuries.

South Burnett Forensic Crash Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner and are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage capturing the moments leading up to and including the crash to come forward.
