Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Cape Cleveland

Police are investigating a traffic crash which claimed the life of a man at Cape Cleveland near Townsville this morning.

Preliminary inquiries indicate just before 11am a collision occurred between three vehicles on the Bruce Highway, a Toyota Hilux towing a trailer with a mower, another Hilux towing a boat and a white Nissan Navara.

The front passenger in the Hilux that was towing the mower, a 25-year-old man from Eimeo, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the crash.

The three male drivers of the vehicles aged 26, 23 and 22 and another 23-year-old male passenger all sustained injuries and were transported to Townsville Hospital in a stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
