Police Responding To Serious Traffic Crash At Kingston

Police are investigating a serious three-vehicle traffic crash at Kingston yesterday evening, June 15.

Initial investigations indicate that around 6.15pm, a 2012 silver Mitsubishi Lancer sedan was travelling northbound on Kingston Road when it collided with the rear of a 2008 Orange Suzuki motorcycle travelling in the same direction.

The Mitsubishi continued for a short distance before colliding with a 2002 blue Toyota Camry sedan, which was stationary at a traffic light at the intersection of Opal Street.

The Mitsubishi then crossed over the median strip into the southbound lanes, where it came to rest.

The 44-year-old male motorcyclist sustained significant head, chest and pelvic injuries. He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The 40-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi was transported to the Logan Community Hospital in a stable condition.

The 40-year-old female driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now appealing for any witnesses – or anyone who may have dash-camera footage from around the intersection at the time of the crash - to come forward.

Investigations continue.
