Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious eight vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Chermside West this afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests a tray truck travelling southbound on Webster Road collided with a red convertible approaching Rode Road around 12.10pm.
The crash then caused a domino effect, with the vehicles colliding with six other cars stationary at the intersection.
The male driver of a white station wagon became trapped in his vehicle and suffered serious injuries. He was later freed by emergency services and transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
A number of other people were treated for minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam vision to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
