A man is in a critical condition following a two vehicle crash in Howard Springs earlier today.
A motorbike and vehicle collided near the intersection on Whitewood and Hillier Roads around 2:30pm.
The rider of the motorbike suffered critical injuries and was transported to the Royal Darwin Hospital.
Detectives from the Major Crash Unit will investigate the cause of the crash.
Traffic delays in the area are expected with traffic diversions in place at Whitewood and Hillier and Whitewood/Hamilton intersections.
Residents of the area between Hamilton and Hillier must approach traffic controllers to gain access until the area reopens.
