Police Responding To Traffic Crash At Ransome

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to a traffic crash involving a stolen vehicle in Ransome on Wednesday, April 3.

Initial investigations indicate around 8.40pm, a grey 2018 Hyundai Tucson, with Queensland registration plates 218 ZHE, was travelling on the wrong side of the road at high speed prior to crashing into a concrete culvert on Rickertt Road.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old Manly West man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The driver has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, disqualified driving, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The passenger, a 25-year-old Victoria Point woman, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage of the vehicle on April 3 is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
