Police responding to traffic crash at Rockhampton

Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash at Little Musgrave Street, North Rockhampton after a white Holden ute slammed into a power pole tonight.

It's believed around 6.37pm the 93-year-old male driver was travelling at speed when he lost control of the car when he failed to negotiate a small bend in the road.

The car has left the road and gone onto the footpath where it has hit the light pole.

He was taken to the Rockhampton Base Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
