Police responding to traffic crash at Sippy Downs

Police are investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash at Sippy Downs this morning.

Around 10.30am, a blue Mazda 2 hatchback and a white Hyundai sedan travelling east on Sunshine Coast Motorway collided.

Four people, a 46-year-old female driver from one vehicle and two women in their 80s and a 5-year-old boy in the second vehicle, were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Traffic diversions were in place for several hours.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact police.
