Police search bushland as part of Wayne Youngkin investigation

As part of Operation Oscar Mantic, detectives investigating the suspected murder of Wayne Youngkin in 1986 are today conducting a search of bushland at Sandgate, Queensland Police say.

Mr Youngkin’s remains were discovered on November 29 last year in a disused tank in the yard of a North Street home in Brighton.

With the assistance of State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers, police have today begun a search of the Deagon Wetlands near the intersection of Hoskins Street and Agnew Street at Sandgate.

It is hoped that the search party will locate items associated with Mr Youngkin that may assist detectives with their ongoing investigation.
