Police are appealing for public assistance as they ramp up their search for missing Dandenong North woman Cara.
Cara left a Somerset Drive address about 7.30am yesterday for her morning walk.
She was in the company of her white Maltese Poodle, Holly, who was wearing a pink collar and red lead.
Cara usually walks through the Tirhatuan Park area.
Police and family hold concerns for Cara due to the cold weather conditions and her disappearance is out of character.
Local police are being assisted by the Air Wing and Search and Rescue Squad in the search for the pair.
Investigators have released an image of Cara and Holly in the hope someone recognises them or has information on their whereabouts.
Cara is Caucasian with a medium build, approximately 170cm tall with dark brown hair and green eyes.
She is believed to be wearing a beige cardigan and blue multi-coloured tights.
