Police search for missing man with autism at Beaconsfield

Police are searching for missing Beaconsfield man Benjamin Thompson.

The 31-year-old left his Amelia Street home about 5am today and hasn't been seen since.

Benjamin has autism and has limited verbal and social skills; he also suffers from a medical condition requiring medication.

It's believed Benjamin knows the Beaconsfield area well and may use public transport to attend shopping centres.

Benjamin is described as 180cm tall with a large build.

He was last seen wearing an olive shirt, a dark zip-up jacket, black and maroon tracksuit pants and black shoes. He was carrying a black suitcase and shopping bags.

Investigators have released a photo of Benjamin in the hope someone may recognise him and be able to provide information on his whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Benjamin or with information is urged to contact Pakenham Police Station on 5945 5200.
