Police search underway after armed robbery - Paddington

An investigation is underway following an armed robbery in Paddington this afternoon.

About 4.30pm (Monday 8 July 2019), officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command responded to reports of an armed robbery at a clothing store on Oxford Street, Paddington.

Police have been told a man entered the shop and threatened staff with a weapon. He took cash and goods before leaving the store on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation has commenced.

Police are conducting a search for a man they believe can assist with inquiries.

He is described to be of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40's or early 50's, of a medium build with white or grey hair. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper with writing on the front, blue jeans, a black beanie and running shoes.

The public is urged not to approach this man if he is seen, but to contact Triple Zero (000).
