Police searching Southport area for missing 9-year-old girl

Police are currently searching the Southport area and are asking for public assistance following a 9-year-old girl being reported missing this afternoon.

The girl was last seen at Lilli Pilli Park at Lilli Pilli Drive just before 3:30pm and has not been sighted since.

The girl is described as Māori, short with a proportionate build, short brown hair, and wearing a black shirt with a purple print and blue denim pants.

Residents of the Southport area are asked to check their properties and surrounds for the girl.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the girls whereabouts to contact police.
