Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from the Illawarra.
Jeffery Berthaly, aged 84, was last seen leaving around 10.30am this morning (Thursday 8 January 2026) on Daintree Drive, Albion Park.
When he failed to return home and could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Family and police hold concerns for Jeffery's welfare due to his age and him being unfamiliar with the area.
Jeffery is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, and balding with white hair on the sides and back of his head.
He was last seen wearing a black zip-up jumper, white short-sleeved collared shirt, blue jeans and black shoes and a black and white baseball cap.
Jeffery is known to frequent the Dapto and Albion Park areas and is known to hitch-hike around the area. He may have caught public transport.
