Police seek help to find driver involved in crash at O'Halloran Hill, South Australia

Police are searching the southern suburbs for a driver involved in a pursuit in the early hours of this morning.

Just before 12.40am, a patrol attempted to stop a silver Holden sedan on Marion Road at North Plympton, but the car sped off. It stopped briefly in a car park on Anzac Highway at Morphettville where police tried to remove the driver from the car, but he again drove off and headed north on Morphett Road.

The pursuit was terminated due to safety reasons, and the car was later found at the intersection of Lonsdale Highway and Majors Road, after it had crashed and caught fire.

The driver had fled the scene prior to police arrival, but police are following positive lines of enquiry regarding his whereabouts.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze, and anyone with information that can assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
