Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing teenager Lilly Gure.
The 15-year-old was last seen leaving for school about 8am yesterday.
She told her family she was catching the train home from Flinders Street about 5pm and never returned home.
Police and family have concerns for Lilly's welfare due to her age.
Lilly was last seen wearing her school uniform, navy blue jumper, black pants and black shoes with a grey bag.
Police have released an image of Lilly in the hope someone recognises her and can provide information regarding her current whereabouts.
Investigators believe Lilly may be in Melbourne's CBD, Thornbury, Noble Park or Sunshine areas.
Anyone who sees Lilly is urged to call Northcote Police Station on 9403 0200.
