Police are currently searching for Grant Kelly who escaped from police custody at Ballarat Police Station last night.
The 29-year-old Wendouree man was at the police station to be interviewed regarding assault-related matters when he escaped just before 7pm.
Police have conducted a search overnight but have not been able to locate Kelly.
Investigators have released an image of Kelly in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.
He was last seen wearing blue track suit pants, black singlet, grey and blue hoodie and no shoes.
Anyone who sights Kelly is urged not to approach him and contact Triple Zero (000).
