Police are appealing for public assistance as part of the search for two missing teenage girls Kara and Alana.
It is believed the 14-year-old, and 13-year-old girls left a school premises on Prospect Hill Road, Canterbury about 11.45am.
The pair have changed their clothing discarding their school bags, uniforms and mobile phones nearby.
They were last seen exiting a train at Belgrave Station about 1.30pm leaving through the railway station carpark.
Kara (14) is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 164cm tall, a slim build and long brown hair, brown eyes and braces.
Alana (13) is described as being Caucasian, long blonde/brown hair, brown eyes, approximately 160cm's tall, and a slim build.
It is unknown what the pair were wearing at the time they disappeared.
Both police and Kara and Alana's families have serious concerns for their welfare due to their age and their disappearance being out of character.
