Police seek info after car crashes into home in Rockdale

Police are appealing for information after a car struck the wall of a home at Rockdale overnight and the driver fled, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 4.15am today tomorrow emergency services were called to a home in Lydham Avenue at Rockdale.

It appears a Holden Commodore ran off the road and struck a home, travelling partially through one of the walls.

The car struck the wall of a child's bedroom however the child was not in the room at the time of the crash. No one was injured during the incident.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and commenced a search for the male driver who fled from the scene.

A police dog squad also searched the area but the man was not found.

The vehicle has been towed from the premises and officers from Fire & Rescue NSW have conducted an initial check of the damage.


The damage is not believed to have compromised the structural integrity of the building.

Police continue with their inquiries into the crash and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward and contact police at St George or Crime Stopers.
