Police seek information after 2017 incident in Tarneit

Police are appealing for information following recent reports a woman was grabbed by a man in Ecoville Park in Tarneit in 2017.

Detectives are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident but believe a woman was grabbed by a man in Cindia Crescent, on the Saturday of the Queen's Birthday weekend, in 2017, around mid-morning.

Investigators have been told the woman was restrained by her wrists before it is believed she was put in the back of a grey Ford Ranger utility.

At this stage detectives are treating the incident as an alleged abduction however are trying to identify the woman involved after enquiries to this date haven't identified any correlating reports of missing people, an alleged victim, or report to police of such an incident.

It is also understood a woman with blonde hair with a pram, may have been walking in the area at the time.

The incident was also witnessed by children, who have only recently provided information to police.

Police have been told the victim was perceived to be of African appearance and have released a facial composite of the woman, as well as an image of a vehicle similar to the one described.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.
