Police seek information after aggravated indecent assault at Glen Innes

Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate an alleged aggravated indecent assault in the state's Northern Tablelands earlier this year.

About 4.20am on Monday 3 January 2022, police have been told a man armed with a knife forced entry into unit on Grey Street, Glen Innes, after he knocked on the door saying there was a fire.

The man held the occupant – a 17-year-old girl - at knifepoint performing an indecent act before fleeing the location on a green/black mountain bike.

Officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged incident.

Detectives have now released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175cm tall, large build, his face was covered and was wearing a green hooded jumper with black trackpants and shoes.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information about the incident or who has dashcam or CCTV vision from the area is urged to contact police.
