Police seek information after ATM stolen in ram raid at Peak Hill

Investigators are appealing for information after a stolen vehicle was used in a ram raid at a service station in the state's Central West today.

About 1.40am (Monday 24 January 2022), two people in a white utility drove through the front entrance of a service station on Cawsell Street, Peak Hill.

After gaining entry, the pair allegedly stole cigarettes and an ATM, before they fled the location south on the Newell Highway towards Dubbo.

Officers attached to Central West Police District attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway, and initial inquiries have revealed the utility was reported stolen from Dubbo yesterday (Sunday 23 January 2022).

The location was closed at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Following enquiries, the utility was recovered in Brocklehurst about 7.30am today (Monday 24 January 2021) and will be sent for forensic examination.
