Police seek information after Bell Park shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information after a man was shot in the upper and lower body in Bell Park in Geelong yesterday evening.

Investigators have been told a 40-year-old Bell Park man was standing next to his vehicle at his Carissa Mews property when he was shot by an unknown male at 4.50pm.

It is believed the offender was travelling on foot.

The victim attempted to get assistance from a house across the road but collapsed in his garden, where he was located by other neighbours who called triple zero (000).

He was conveyed to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The offender is believed to be approximately 193cms tall and was wearing dark clothing.

Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Carissa Mews in Bell Park about 4.45pm prior to the incident, and may have seen the male in the street or have dash cam footage, to come forward.
