Police seek information after Brookfield shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have released CCTV footage hoping to identify a vehicle after a man was shot in the leg in Brookfield in December 2020.

Investigators have been told a now 28-year-old Melton West man was travelling alone in his white Holden Commodore station wagon on Clarkes Road when he was followed by two other vehicles just after midnight on December 30.

The victim's car was rammed, and the driver of a small white hatch and a passenger in a dark SUV exited their respective vehicles and approached the victim's vehicle, before discharging a shot into his ankle.

The offenders returned to the white hatch and fled the scene, before the victim phoned two friends who conveyed him to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have today released CCTV of a vehicle they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The footage shows a white small hatchback pulling up outside a venue on High Street in Melton about 3.20am on 1 January 2021.

Police are hoping to identify the driver of the vehicle and its two passengers.

Anyone who recognises the vehicle or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
