Police seek information after child approach - Malabar

Police are appealing for information after reports of a child approach in Sydney's east last year.

About 2.50pm on Monday 21 December 2020, an 11-year-old girl was walking along Austral Street, Malabar, when she was approached by a man unknown to her, who asked her if she wanted to join him on a bus ride.

The girl did not reply and ran to a nearby friend's house. The incident was reported to police and officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being aged in his 50s, has a tanned complexion, short grey hair, and was unshaven. He is shown wearing a grey hooded jumper with a dark blue shirt underneath, grey tracksuit pants, and at the time was smoking a cigarette.
