Police seek information after home invasion - Thornton

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a home invasion at Thornton last night.

About 10.25pm yesterday (Monday 4 September 2023), emergency services were called to a home on Railway Avenue, Thornton, following reports of a home invasion.

Police were told six unknown men, armed with tools and metal objects, forced entry into a home before ransacking the premises.

When the group was confronted by the resident, an 18-year-old man, he was assaulted, resulting in lacerations to his face and head.

The resident was taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and established a crime scene which has been forensically examined.
