Police seek information after police car rammed in Altona North

Police are appealing for assistance after a police car was rammed in Altona North on Friday afternoon, 7 January.

Police officers noticed a Holden sedan without a rear numberplate in a Millers Road carpark about 1.30pm.

The vehicle suddenly reversed at speed into the police divisional van, narrowly missing an approaching police officer.

The grey Holden Commodore, which had a distinctive white boot and rear bumper, fled the scene.

It is believed to have had two men and a woman inside.

Police have released CCTV of the vehicle in the hope that someone will recognise it and be able to provide information about its occupants.

The vehicle was then involved in an incident on Snydes Road at the Princes Freeway overpass where one of the occupants allegedly assaulted a person with a hockey stick around 2pm.

The vehicle was later found abandoned on Enfield Avenue in Werribee later that afternoon.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

The police officers were not injured.
