Police seek information after ram raid - Murray River

An investigation is underway following an aggravated break and enter in the state's Murray River region earlier this week.

Between 5.30pm on Wednesday (26 May 2021) and 6am yesterday (Thursday 27 May 2021), a vehicle was used to force entry to a business on Sangar Street, Corowa, driving through the front doors.

The store was unattended at the time and was extensively damaged. No items appear to have been stolen.

Police were notified about 7am and officers attached to the Murray River Police District attended.

A crime scene was established which has since been forensically examined. An altered Victorian registration plate was found at the scene and is believed to belong to a blue Audi, stolen from an address in Melbourne.

Police have commenced an investigation and initial inquiries suggest the people involved fled in the stolen Audi into Victoria, to the border town of Echuca.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and call Corowa Police on 6033 1144 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
