Police seek information as stolen vehicle involved in multiple property offences at Dubbo

An investigation is underway after a stolen vehicle was involved in multiple property offences in the state's Orana region this week.

About 7am on Wednesday (27 January 2021), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District responded to reports a white Toyota Prado had been stolen from a property on Burraway Road, Rawsonville, near Dubbo.

Police attended and commenced an investigation.

A short time later, the stolen vehicle was involved in a police pursuit on Burraway Road which was terminated due to safety concerns.

Police will allege the SUV was seen at the scene of several property offences around Dubbo during the night and early hours of the morning, including the theft of three vehicles from homes on Burrabadine Road, Minore Road, and Mendooran Road.

Two of the vehicles have since been recovered, with the third – a grey Mitsubishi Challenger station wagon registered EDU34E – still outstanding.

About 3am yesterday (Thursday 28 January 2021), police received reports of an attempted break and enter at a property on Peachville Road, Dubbo.

Police were told a group of approximately four males were disturbed by the property owner and were last seen leaving the property in the stolen SUV.

The SUV was also seen at the site of a fraud offence at a business on Cobra Street, Dubbo, a short time later.

About 11.20pm yesterday, police sighted the stolen vehicle at Brocklehurst and initiated a pursuit which was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

The SUV was found destroyed by fire in Yarra Place, Dubbo, at about 12.10am today (Friday 29 January 2021).

Police are appealing for information from the public to assist with the ongoing investigation.
