Police seek information on Aggravated assault in Darwin 3 September

Northern Territory Police are investigating the serious assault of a woman in Darwin Botanic Gardens.

At about 5pm on Wednesday 1 September 2021, police received a report that a women had been stabbed in a carpark near a business in the Botanic Gardens.

The woman was transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A 34-year-old man, who is known to the victim, has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

He has been charged with:

  • Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possess/carry/use controlled weapon.

He will appear before the Darwin Local Court later today.
