Police seek information on Assault at Casuarina 4 October

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to the assault of a 12-year-old girl that occurred on Sunday evening in Casuarina.

At 6pm, the female victim and her friend were travelling on bus number 4 from Parap to Casuarina when she was approached by a female adult and allegedly assaulted.

The victim exited the bus at the exchange and another two adults became involved, allegedly assaulting her again before fleeing the scene.

Transit security officers came to the victim's aid before she was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by family.

The victim suffered multiple lacerations and bruising to her body.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Kren said "This was a disgusting and cowardly act. Police work in partnership with Transit Officers and will continue to do so in an effort to reduce incidents of violence and anti-social behaviour."

Serious Crime Squad are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact them on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10134271.
